About

Queens South NYCDOE Borough Office (QSNYCDOEBO) embraces a holistic approach in supporting schools across areas of instruction, operations, finance and human resources, student services, support to English Language Learners, and students with disabilities.

The Department of Education’s (DOE) “Strong Schools, Strong Communities” model aligns support and supervision, brings experienced staff closer to schools, and helps to build a school’s capacity to improve student achievement. The support structure is driven by the DOE’s vision for instruction and builds on the Framework for Great Schools. Under this model, schools work directly with their superintendents and the QSNYCDOEBO to identify needed supports to help raise student achievement.
